Welcome to The Pipeline.

Your Help and Support is Requested0

For many this time of year is the holiday season, but we all know that in fact this is the awards season. The Best of 2014, Top Ten of 2014, and more. And so I find myself in the running for a few awards and need your help in the form of votes, in two polls.

The first is over at Top Sales World, where they are set to recognize a number of leaders in some key areas related to sales and marketing. I have the good fortune of being nominated in two categories, and am writing to as for your support.

The first is for Top Sales & Marketing Blog 2014, and if you are regular reader of this blog, I would truly appreciate your support.

The second category is for Top Sales & Marketing Webinar 2014, for the webinar I delivered for salesforce.com about The Objective Seller.

Now the great thing about the good folks running the Top Sales & Marketing Awards, is they really understand democracy. Unlike those malcontents in Ottawa and Washington, who limit the citizenry to one single vote per elections, Top Sales World rewards initiative, and allows you to exercise your vote over and over, in fact every 12 hours. So you can vote now, 12 hours from now, twice tomorrow, and every day after that until the voting closes on December 12, now that’s democracy.

The other award I would ask for your support, is run by the Sales and Lead Management Association, who are looking for votes to determine the 50 Most Influential in Sales Lead Management. Now SLMA, has a more traditional view of democracy, limiting each person to one vote throughout the voting, which closes November 30. I am asking for your support for this as well, your votes got me on the list last year, I hope we can do the same this year. You can vote by clicking here!

Thank you for your support in these votes, and in general through the whole year.

A Big Thank You To All of You!10

Thank you

I would like to thank everyone who supported me over the last month in two competitions I was involved with. As a result of your support, I was selected as a member of an exclusive list, and this blog, The Pipeline was honoured as top blog.

First, I am pleased to have been selected as one of the Top 50 Most Influential People in Sales Lead Management for 2013, in the Sales Lead Management Association’s annual election. This is the second time I have made the list, 2010 was the last time. One of the great things about being on the list, is the great company it puts me in. I want to congratulate all the other people on the list, and thank James W. Obermayer, CEO of the Sales Lead Management Association, for his tireless effort year round and for running this important competition.

Meanwhile, over at Top Sales World, my blog The Pipeline, won the Gold Medal for Top Sales & Marketing Blog, in the 2013 Top Sales & Marketing Awards. The medals were awarded based 50% on votes on the Top Sales World website, and 50% on the selection of a committee of expert peers. While I have won other awards in previous years, this is special as it recognizes the work that goes into producing quality and executable content several times a week.

I want to thank the guests who have contributed to The Pipeline in 2013, my peers, the committee, Jonathan Farrington, fearless captain of Top Sales World. AND most of all those who read, comment, and voted for my blog.

Thank You!

Influencing Sales and Sellers!0

There were two lists recently release by two different organizations you should all be aware of and make use of.  They both list sales influencers.  The first is Top Sales World’s Top 50 Sales & Marketing Influencers 2013, the other is OpenView Sales Labs Top 25 Sales Influencers for 2013.

What you will find on these list are a set of professionals with a wide range of advice, resources and ideas focused on helping you sell better.  What qualifies them for this list is not a common view of sales, in fact the people on the lists come from and offer contrasting views on sales and sales methodologies, but they are all experts in their field, which is why they are on these select list, some on there over multiple years.

I encourage you to get familiar with them as you are not only bound to discover many new ideas, have current successful ideas reinforced, and all in all sell better.

I have the honour of not only being on both lists, but being a repeat appearance on both.  For that I not only have to thank the committees tasked with producing a list that lives up to billing, but more importantly, you the loyal readers and supporters of this blog and my work elsewhere.

Top 25 Sales Influencers for 201220

One great thing about this time of year is the research done by others to help you kick-start your year.  The advantage is that you have experts in the field researching specific areas of interest, and delivering valuable resources you can use, thereby saving you time and effort, and allow to utilize and benefit from those resources.

B2B sales is not different, the good folks over at OpenView Labs, have put together a list of Top 25 Sales Influencers for 2012.  Needless to say this is a great resource for all in B2B sales, and needless to say the list includes your humble writer, and not so humble sales trainer, myself Tibor Shanto.  On the list with me are some old friends and some new friends, including Mike Weinberg, S. Anthony Iannarino, Elinor Stutz, Jonathan Farrington, and Kenrad Lee.

Check out the list, explore, learn and profit.

Top Sales & Marketing Awards 201122

It seems like only the other day that we were celebrating the winners of the 2010 Top Sales Awards, and here we are set to vote for the winners of this year’s awards.   To Jonathan Farrington’s credit, rather than resting on the success of the inaugural event, he has expanded things again, this year he has improved and expanded it to the 2011 Top Sales & Marketing Awards.

This year again, I have the honour and privilege to be nominated in five categories alongside some great sales thinkers, and friends.  While each category will have a winner, the real winners are the readers who have the chance to take insight from these sales experts.

In the Top Sales Article category, my article Implementation vs. Execution, the category also features colleagues Paul McCord, Wendy Weiss, Kelley Robertson and others.

The work on my blog The Pipeline, garnered two nominations.  One for Top Sales & Marketing Blog, where I share the company of last year’s winner S. Anthony Iannarino, Paul McCord, Ardath Albee, Mark Hunter, Dave Kurlan, Dave Brock, Ian Brodie, Dave Stein, Dan Waldschmidt.  Almost all of these great bloggers have contributed as guest bloggers to The Pipeline, and I would encourage you to visit and subscribe to theirs.

In the Top Sales & Marketing Blog Post, Mastering Voice Mail, was nominated alongside posts from Christian Maurer, Ken Thoreson,  S. Anthony Iannarino, Paul McCord, Mark Hunter, Dave Kurlan, Dan Waldschmidt.  Almost looks like we should form a band, but no surprise, top bloggers lead to top posts.

Changing mediums, my webinar Leveraging Trigger Events for Sales Success, a jolly romp of triggers triggered and dodging bullets;  is up for Top Sales & Marketing Webinar.  The other nominees include Kendra Lee.

Finally, and frankly my favourite is the White Paper nominated for Top Sales & Marketing EBook, it is a piece I wrote focused on time called Sales Happen In Time.

So there you have it, please look at all the nominees in all the categories, and vote.  Voting is easy, just go to site, register, and off you go; in fact it is so easy, I encourage you to do it daily as part of health sales diet, but hurry, polls close December the 9th, and the awards are presented at a special on-line ceremony on December the 15th.

Thank you for participating and supporting all the nominees.
